Faculty at DYPIS

Teachers are DYPIS-Nagpur’s greatest asset. We select our teachers based not only on their subject knowledge and the past results of their best students, but on how well they help each student in their class grow both academically and socially. All of our teachers are trained in how to 'differentiate' their lessons so that students of all academic levels are given the chance to improve in each subject.

Our teachers at DYPIS-Nagpur are amongst the best trained in the country.All of our teachers have been to, or will attend (in their first year of service), training programs offered by either the International Baccalaureate Organization or the University of Cambridge International Examinations.This training insures that our teachers know the curriculum inside and out. Our teachers also engage in regular professional development throughout the year.We have developed a program that includes general educational techniques that can be used by teachers at all levels. As well as, workshops targeted specifically to the teachers of primary, secondary or "plus 2" aged students.  This insures that our teachers work together as a team. The small student to teacher ratio of our classes allows all of our teachers to know each student very well. We have also instituted the practice of regular meetings of all teachers of each class to discuss the academic progress of each student.

The pedagogy followed at DYPIS-Nagpur is, to a large extent, determined by the three international curriculums which we deliver. These curriculums work best when the teachers use a technique called Problem Based Learning (PBL).PBL emphasizes that students research and produce a project in response to a problem given by the teacher. In this approach teachers act as guides helping students explore new realms of knowledge.  Both universities and employers support this technique, as it develops subject knowledge combined with critical thinking skills, cooperative learning and goal setting.

Finally all DYPIS-Nagpur teachers feel a deep sense of responsibility to both our students and their parents. We understand that the education of one’s child is one of the most important decisions of any parents life, and we strive to make sure that each and every student is given the personal attention necessary to help them become compassionate and productive leaders in the competitive global economy of tomorrow.
